Established in 1965, Dr. S. N. Medical College has been a cornerstone of medical education in Western Rajasthan. Named after the renowned physician Dr. Shantilal Nagar, the institution has consistently produced medical professionals who serve across India and globally.
The college is situated on a 50-acre campus in Jodhpur, equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure including digital classrooms, advanced laboratories, and a fully functional teaching hospital with 750 beds. Our mission is to provide comprehensive medical education while fostering research and community healthcare.
Recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC), the college offers undergraduate (MBBS), postgraduate (MD/MS), and diploma programs across 25 specialties. The curriculum is regularly updated to incorporate the latest medical advancements and follows guidelines from the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences.
The attached teaching hospital, Mathura Das Mathur Hospital, serves over 500 patients daily from across Rajasthan, providing tertiary care in cardiology, neurology, oncology, trauma, and other specialties. The hospital is also a designated COVID-19 treatment center for the region.

The 750-bed teaching hospital attached to our college provides comprehensive tertiary care to the population of Western Rajasthan. The hospital operates 24/7 emergency services, outpatient departments across 30 specialties, and advanced diagnostic facilities.

The college has an active research culture with faculty and students publishing 100+ research papers annually in national and international journals. Our research focus areas include Tropical Diseases, Non-communicable Diseases, Public Health, and Medical Education.
We have received research grants from ICMR, DST, and DBT for projects on diabetes prevalence in rural Rajasthan, antimicrobial resistance patterns, and telemedicine applications. The institution holds an annual research conference "Medicon" attracting participants from across India.
Dr. Sharma's team published findings on "Epidemiology of Hypertension in Rural Rajasthan" in the prestigious medical journal, highlighting the prevalence and risk factors in the local population.
Public Health 2024The college received ₹2.5 crore grant from Indian Council of Medical Research for a 3-year study on antimicrobial resistance patterns in tertiary care settings across Western Rajasthan.
